ADMINISTRATIVE  ORDER NO. 18-6


JOLIET TREATMENT CENTER AS COURT FACILITY

WHEREAS, some inmates in the custody of the Illinois Department of Corrections are in need of a mental health commitment and/or mental health treatment after their sentence has been completed;

WHEREAS, the Illinois Department of Corrections, through the Will County State's Attorney's Office, will be requesting civil commitment and/or treatment for inmates upon their release from custody;

WHEREAS, these inmates are housed at the Joliet Treatment Center, 2848 West McDonough, Joliet, Illinois 60436;

WHEREAS, transportation of these inmates could pose safety and security concerns for the inmate and personnel from the Illinois Department of Corrections and cause unnecessary costs to be incurred;

THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED AS FOLLOWS:

  1. Effective immediately, the Joliet Treatment Center visitation area is designated as an official Court facility for the Twelfth Judicial Circuit.
  2. Effective immediately, the Twelfth Judicial Circuit will hold civil mental health commitment/treatment hearings for IDOC inmates at the visitation room at the Joliet Treatment Center on the First Thursday of the Month at 1:30 p.m.
  3. The Chief Judge will assign the Judge to preside over these hearings.

4.   This Order shall be effective until further Order of this Court.
